Separation, Self, State, and Synthesis

Good morning!

In the animal realm of survival of the fittest, humankind survived and prospered through cooperation and society. Animals sense their bodies in order to survive. Humans, with increasingly complex societies and differentiated social roles, further intensified their sense of self, identified body and mind as the ego, and strengthened discrimination between self and others and the desire for possession. Thus arose the triple poisons of self-centeredness: self-view, self-interest, and self-attachment.

Seeking and accumulating fame and fortune—power and possessions—humans built cities and walled settlements and established systems to control political, economic, and social life. About five thousand years ago, they formed city-states that waged war against other cities in pursuit of colonies and resources. They began using money, clay tokens for accounting, and clay tablets as currency, thereby initiating civilization—urbanization—based on struggles for might, matter, and money.

Modern Homo sapiens carry genes from Neanderthals, Denisovans, and earlier human species through them. Thus, the older model of a branching family tree—in which all earlier human groups supposedly perished through conflict—is giving way to a network model, according to which they were absorbed through loving union and interbreeding. From this perspective, it seems all the more strange that members of the same human species wage war against one another.

The reason lies in pyramid-shaped states, which arose with the city-state less than one-thousandth of human history ago and developed into modern nation-states, together with the pyramidal civilization of political, economic, and social systems modeled upon them. The state is the collective embodiment of sinful separation and self-attachment. Its dictatorship, war, nuclear weapons, and catastrophe (collective Four Sufferings) have brought civilization to a tragic dead end and threaten the total doom.

About 2,500 years ago, however, a religious, spiritual, and cultural revolution arose to turn the axis of pyramidal civilization. It awakened humanity to universal truth and called for reunion with holiness—wholly wholesomeness; the sharing of holy life, heart, and harmony; the cultivation of truth, goodness, beauty, and holiness; and the realization of freedom, equality, friendship, and peace. This revolution has continued down to the present day.

A pyramid-shaped system in which the richest 1% own more than one-third of the world’s wealth, while the poorest half of humanity owns only about 2%, can never produce equality, peace, freedom, autonomy, safety, security, universal love, or happiness. Pyramidal civilization produces states and wars, nuclear holocaust, climate change, mass extinction, and the entire cluster of global crises confronting us today.

Let us all awaken to the universal law of Dependent Co-origination—the truth that all things are interrelated and relative, nothing separate or sovereign. Let us free ourselves and one another from the sinful karma of the ego and the ego-state. Let us accept responsibility as members of the holy Dharma of humanity and all living beings—the wholesomeness of the whole—observe the precepts and a Global Ethic, and, as friends, realize coexistence, cooperation, and co-prosperity through wisdom and compassion!

弱肉強食の動物界で人類は協力・社会により生き延び繁栄した。動物は生存の為感覚により身体を感じ、人は更に社会の複雑化・役割分化により更に我意識を強化し心身を自我とし自他差別・所有欲を強め我見・我利・我執の三毒を持つ様になる。

人間は名・利：力・物を求め蓄積し都市・城市を作り、政治・経済・社会を統制し約５千年前他都市に植民・資源を求め戦争をする都市国家を作り、貨幣・帳簿の粘土片・粘土版の貨幣を使い始め力・物・金の奪い合いの文明（都市化）を始めた。

現存人類ホモ・サピエンスにはネアンデルタール人・デニソワ人・原人の遺伝子があり、先行人類は全て争いで滅びたのではなく愛で吸収されたとする従来の系統樹ではなくネットワークの説が有力になり同人種で戦争し合うのが不思議とされる。

それは人類の歴史の千分の一以下の最近始まった都市国家から国民国家に至る金字塔国家とそれに倣う政治経済社会人間の金字塔文明による罪（分離）の我執の集団化国家により独裁・戦争・核・破局の集団四苦による文明袋小路悲劇の故である。

金字塔文明を軸転換する宗教・精神・文化革命は約２千５百年前に起こり普遍真理の覚醒による聖（全体健全）帰一、命・心・和の分かち合い、真善美聖の修養による自由・平等・友愛・平和の実現が提示・継続されて現在に至っているのである。

上位１％が世界の富の三分の一以上を所有し下位50％が2％だけ所有という金字塔組織、国家と戦争、核ホロコーストその他気候変動・種大量絶滅等地球問題群を生み出す金字塔文明は平等・平和・自由・自治・安全・安心・博愛・幸福等決して生まない。

全ての人間が普遍法縁起：一切相依相対に目覚め、我・我国の罪業から自他共に自由になり解放し、人類・生類の聖法（全体健全）の一員として責任を取り戒・地球倫理を守り、共に友として知恵と慈悲で共存・共同・共栄を達成しましょう！
